Midland-Odessa has a semi-arid climate resulting in low humidity. With an elevation of approximately 2800 feet, we enjoy summer nights in the upper 60s and days in the upper 90s. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging from the low and middle 30s to the upper 50s. Average rainfall is 14.96 inches, and average snowfall is 1.5 inches. With an average of 316 sunny days a year, we enjoy lots of clean air and clear skies.

Midland-Odessa has steadily decreased in both cities. In
1997 Odessa implemented a Juvenile Curfew to assist in curbing
the incidence of juvenile related crime.

Midland-Odessa is fortunate to have the ninth largest airport in Texas. Midland International Airport is conveniently located midway between the two cities, and accommodates almost 600,000 boardings per year. Over 50 departures daily by American Eagle, Southwest,
Continental, and Delta Airlines, facilitate good traveling both domestically and internationally.
Midland-Odessa is in the process of establishing public transportation (Bus Service), and plans to have it in place by the fall of 2003.
